Louisiana Queens;  no state in the union has more beauty queens than the great state of Louisiana.  Why Louisiana?  It's called joy de vive.  Louisiana folks know how to enjoy life.  You've heard the saying "Let The Good Times Roll", well---there you be.

Another reason, and this falls right in line with reason one, is that Louisiana has more festivals than any other state.  Hence, Festival Queens.   We have 225 active festivals in the course of 12 month.  There are festivals every weekend some where in Louisiana.  If you have a festival, you have to have a queen.  In the case of many festivals, such as the Louisiana Corn Festival in Bunkie, you have more than one queen.  Some are just little niblets, but Louisiana Queens none the less.

Without sounding or acting too politically correct, we must first pay tribute to the queen of queens, Miss Louisiana State Queens.  The 2007 Miss Louisiana is Amanda Joseph from Pineville, LA.  For the second year in a row, a Louisiana State University student is Miss Louisiana.  Last year's winner, Jamie Wilson, was an LSU law student.  More info on the 2007 Miss Louisiana Pageant here.
